5th and 6th class girls had a great day out in Boher today as part of the Limerick East Camogie Cumann na mBunscol 9 a-side competition. The girls played brilliantly in all of their matches, making it to the semi-final. Well done to all involved.

Today Junior Infants and 6th class planned a Summer story together. They worked so well coming up with ideas and drawing pictures. Next week they will use Book Creator on the iPads to type their stories.

Well done to the boys who represented Killinure at the Semi-Final of Lego Robotics Competition at Limerick Racecourse today. They took part in a workshop then had to code a Lego Robot to navigate a route without knocking over any pillars.

The children had their first French lesson of the year today with Audrey Parent. Audrey introduced them to her home Islands of New Caledonia. The children were fascinated to learn about this French colony in the South Pacific.

6th class had a pizza and movie afternoon today. They watched an animation of Kensuke's Kingdom and compared it to the book that we read by Michael Morpurgo.

We had 2 teams representing Killinure at the Credit Union Table Quiz on Monday in Caherconlish. They performed brilliantly.

Analog Devices run a Lego Robotics Competition that we were lucky enough to be accepted for again this year. The children in 6th took part in a workshop during which they worked as a team to build a lego robot. They then had to code the robot to pick items up off the table. They were monitored throughout and the team that worked best together was chosen to move on to the Semi-final competition in March at Analog Buildings in Raheen. They winning team have to design a project of their own based on the theme 'Submerged'. We were kindly gifted lego medals and 3 large lego 'Submerged' sets to build.

The annual Murroe-Boher Newsletter is now available from Wednesday, December 20th in all local outlets, namely, Spar Murroe, Sean English Murroe, Murroe Pharmacy, Centra Beary’s Cross, Pa McGrath’s and O’Neill’s Boher, and Sweeneys Newport. For this organisation, it contains reports and pictures of 2024 events. It is also full of reports from all local parish organisations, sports, and schools, with relevant photographs of events in Murroe and Boher. Don’t leave it too long to get your copy as it has sold out in recent years by Christmas or shortly afterwards.
