Maths:
We are starting some work on length this week. Our key language for today’s lesson is tall, taller, short, shorter.
Today’s Maths Action is as follows:
Look around you home. Find something that is taller + shorted than:
- your outstretched hand
- your shoe
- your pencil case
- your outstretched arms.
Activity 1: Take a look at the picture below and answer the questions.
Activity 2: Find 5 toys/ items at home and arrange them from shortest to tallest.
Activity 3: Busy at Maths. Pg 57- which is shorter?
Phonics:
Activity 1: Revise over sounds all ready covered this year.
Check and see if your child can remember all the sounds from the grid below!
Activity 2: Look at the picture below. Can you unscramble the words. Look at the pictures to help and remember to sound it out! Write your answers or make them using playdough.
Just Phonics: pg. 18
Focus on the sound/letter ‘h’
Activity 1: draw 3 pictures of things starting with the letter h.
Activity 2: Trace the letter
Activity 3: colour the things that begin with h
Let’s Discover: My clothes through the seasons pg. 27
Have a chat about clothes you wear in winter. Chat about extra items of clothing you may be wearing this week that you may not normally need during the winter months. Think about the different types of clothes you will wear when the snow, frost and ice are gone!!

Art activity: Take a look at the videos below if you have some time today! See can you follow some of the steps to draw Bluey- it’s tricky so give it your best shot!

We are moving onto throwing and catching over the coming weeks as part of our fundamental movements in school.
If you have time today while you are stuck inside tag a look at this challenge- all you need is some toilet rolls and some pairs of socks!
