In the last few weeks, we've been working hard on mastering Sight Words.
The better we know our sight words, the more fluently we can read.
Our favourite way of doing this is by playing daily 'Word Bingo' games.
We each get our own bingo card, with its own special 3-digit number. Ms R makes sure nobody in the same group has the same card!
The IWB calls out each word, which we then cover with a cube, if we have it.
When a child calls 'Bingo!', they call out their 3-digit card number and the system checks if their card is a winner!
The 1st 3 winners in a game each gets a sticker!
We have great fun playing this with our classmates and we are getting super-good at recognising sight words!
(By the way, the 'key words' spellings we learn each Thursday are also sight words, so we are getting great practice in them too.)👌🏻👌🏻
