Happy Pancake Tuesday everyone! I hope you all have some yummy pancakes at some stage today!
I have left today's work below but don't forget there are some extra (optional)activities on Seesaw to complete for music, PE, art and yoga/ mindfulness. Have a look at the virtual library on Seesaw too, there are 2 different libraries to have a look at!
There are also some people that need to login to Spellings for Me to keep doing their yellow spelling tests until they are locked out. Once you are locked out I will send you on your spellings list.

- Listen to the poem 'My Teacher took my iPod'.
Can you hear any action words (verbs) in the past tense in the poem? (e.g. took, said, tried, gave, looked, cracked, started, began, changed)
Try speak the poem by changing these verbs to the present tense. (Choose one/two lines to do this with).
Example: "But then she tried my headphones on and gave a click on play" becomes ...
"But then she tries my headphones on and gives a click on play"

Grow in Love:
Yesterday we listened to a story about Jesus in the desert. We know that Jesus spent 40 days and 40 nights in the desert. While he was there, he prayed and fasted (did not eat). Today, followers of Jesus set aside a time during the year when they too could pray and give things up, although not in the same way that Jesus did. We call this time ‘Lent’.
Jesus prayed and fasted because he was preparing to do the work that God had sent him to do. In fact, Jesus prayed a lot and especially when he faced important decisions. What time of the year are we preparing for when we pray and fast during Lent? What special time of the year does Lent lead up to? (Easter)
Jesus fasted while he was in the desert. We do not need to fast completely – that wouldn’t be a wise thing to do – but is there anything that we could ‘fast from’ or give up during Lent?
Lent is a time for the followers of Jesus to show the ways in which they can live like Jesus. We can do this by praying and giving things up, but I wonder.. what other things could we do to show that we want to live like Jesus?
After having discussed the above points with whoever is helping you to do your work today, I want you to read the story ‘Jesus in the Desert’ on p. 58 and fill in the blanks. Then on p. 59, I want you to come up with different ideas of things that you can do during Lent to show that you are a follower of Jesus.
