Hi SENIOR INFANTS,
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas break and are ready for some online schoolwork 'til we are back together again.
Ms Power and I are working together to make sure you are doing the same work as your mainstream classmates every day. Each day, you will get English and Maths from us in this folder and (later in the week) a bit of Irish, twice weekly, as well as a few other daily topics.
Do your best and your parents can upload your work samples for me on Class Dojo.
KEEP A ROUTINE for your work each day, like we do at school- it has to work for you and your family!
e.g.
1. Start each day with JOE WICK's PE exercise video on YouTube daily (or any other exercise of choice...YouTube 'Movement breaks for Kids' for more ideas.)
2.Next, do a bit of NEWS and WEATHER-WATCHING each morning...what day/date/month/season is it? What is the weather today? 'Go to the window and check the weather!!'
What news do you want to share with your mom/dad? Have they some news to share with you? Ask them questions!!! :-)
3. Incorporate MOVEMENT BREAKS between lessons throughout the day, especially if your child is getting tired or distracted... it's a must! e.g. Jumping Jacks, jogging/marching/hopping on the spot, trampolining etc.... 5 minutes should be enough. YouTube 'Movement breaks for kids' for more ideas........SAMPLE to try today:
GoNoodle- give this kids bop go noodle a try today if you have some time. Ms Power will make sure you get a point for each gonoodle task over the coming weeks! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNog54ovi8Q
4. WATCH HOMESCHOOL HUB and AFTERSCHOOL HUB each morning and afternoon! The youngest age-group catered for is 1st/2nd class but lots of learning can be still be done from these lessons....and you'll be in 1st before you know it! ;-)
5. Don't forget to have snacks and drinks regularly...your brain needs these to work properly! :-)
1. MATHS:
Busy at Maths (big book) pg. 56
The Story of 8- before you complete this page can you remember the story of 8 on your own. Start with 0+8=8 and continue 1+_=8.

Finally for today,
3. GROW IN LOVE: (was to be covered last Wednesday, January 6th, to coincide with the arrival of the 3 Wise Men)
Pg. 24 'Who told the shepherds that Jesus had been born'?
We covered this before Christmas and you watched the video with the answer... do you remember who it was? (Angel Gabriel)... tell your parents what you remenber about the story.
Can you draw and colour the scene that the shepherds saw?
Practice 'In the name of the Father...' and say the 'Hail Mary' together..
